  1. Get diced beef
  2. Take coconut milk
  3. Make ready red curry paste
  4. Take ground cumin
  5. Take ground coriander
  6. Prepare ground nutmeg
  7. Get white pepper
  8. Get ground clove
  9. Take ground cinnamon
  10. Prepare cardamom pod (crushed)
  11. Take Star Anise
  12. Make ready sugar

  14. Take Tamarind paste or 1 Tbsp vinegar (if you don’t have Tamarind paste)
  15. Make ready peanuts or crunchy peanut butter
  16. Make ready cherry Tomatoes
  17. Get potatoes peel and cut to pieces
  18. Get onion
  19. Make ready vegetable oil

This Beef Massaman Curry is made with beef, coconut milk, potatoes and peanuts. The sauce is rich in flavour and the beef falls apart beautifully. The main ingredients of a Massaman curry include. Pour over the coconut milk, crumble the beef stock on top and add the fish sauce and sugar.

Steps to make Easy beef Massaman curry:
  1. Simmer diced beef and 400 ml coconut milk for 1.30- 2 hours. Leave it aside.
  2. Add ground cumin, ground coriander, ground nutmeg, ground white pepper, ground clove, 3/4 Tsp ground cinnamon and 4 crushed cardamom pod into small bowl. They will be added to red curry paste to make Massaman curry paste.
  3. After 2 hours, start the curry. - In the big sauce pan, add vegetable oil and heat it up with medium high heat. Then add red curry paste and pre mixed dried spices. Cook them until fragrant. If you use Massaman curry paste, you don’t need to add pre mixed dried spices.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and add 300 ml of coconut milk. Cook until you see the oil split (around 5- 10 minutes).
  5. Add peanuts, star anise, 2 cardamon, and 1/4 Tsp ground cinnamon. Reduce heat to low, cover pan with lid for 5 minutes.
  6. Add potatoes, onions, tomatoes, 100 ml coconut milk. Mix them and leave for 5 minutes with the lid on.
  7. Add the cooked beef, around 100 ml of cooked beef coconut milk and the rest of coconut milk. Add fish sauce, sugar, salt and tamarind paste. Leave it simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Taste it and add more sugar, salt or tamarind paste up to your taste (if needed). With low heat, leave it for half an hour.
  9. Now it’s ready to be served.

The main ingredients of a Massaman curry include. Pour over the coconut milk, crumble the beef stock on top and add the fish sauce and sugar. Beef massaman curry is a mild Thai curry. (So a good one to start your on your Thai flavour journey!) But if you like your curry a little hotter, finely chop a fresh red chili and add it in. You can even keep the seeds in if you want an extra fiery kick. Beef massaman curry is a mild, balanced Thai curry that's long on flavour.
